26 Grist Mill Street Committee

DRAFT Meeting Minutes of November 19, 2019

Members present:  Dane Headley, Chair, Bob DeFelice, Glenn Pogust, Andy Jeffrey, Don Davis and Betsy Forsham.

Call to order:  Chair Dane Headley called the meeting to order at 3:59 p.m.

Previous meeting minutes: It was moved by Glenn, seconded by Andy and unanimously approved to approve the minutes of November 12, 2019 as written.

Business:

On going cost estimates – Glenn reviewed cost estimates received to date and handed out two sheets showing the updated figures.  He noted that he had not been able to meet with the paint guy and builder due to their busy schedules.  Betsy also tried to get figures from a site contractor, to no avail. It was agreed that we will take the average of the costs in both scenarios and use those in our presentation at the public hearing. A version of Glenn’s cost template as well as plans 1-b and 3-b will be distributed to the attendees.

Preparations for Thursday’s hearing – Betsy agreed to make 25 copies of the handouts.  Members discussed some of items to explain at the hearing.  Bob noted that we will need to have a short deliberative session after the hearing to finalize our recommendations to the Select Board and the Budget Committee.  We will not be able to introduce anything new which was not brought forward and discussed at the public hearing.

 – When asked, Bob indicated that the Parks and Recreation Dept. will come up with figures for the lighting and fencing of the parking area, in time to be included on the warrant.

–  Dane again asked if progress has been made in developing a contract with Muster Field Farm Museum regarding the hearse.  Bob said there was no reason it was not going to move forward.  It will probably be finalized sometime this winter or early spring.  The hearse will be moved in the spring when weather conditions are more favorable.

Next Meeting date:

The public hearing, to be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 @ 7:00 p.m.

Adjournment:

Chair Headley thanked everyone for all their hard work.  After the public hearing, the committee will not meet again, except if requested to do so by the Select Board. There being no further business to conduct, it was moved by Glenn, seconded by Bob and unanimously approved to adjourn at 4:36 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Betsy Forsham
