Planning Board

Proposed Removal of Trees on a Scenic Road

You are hereby notified of a Public Hearing to be held pursuant to NH RSA 231:158, on May 13, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Memorial Town Hall, 93 Main Street, Sutton Mills, NH, when the Planning Board will hear an application by the Town of Sutton to remove three trees on a road designated as a Scenic Road.

The purpose of the proposed tree removal is to enable the removal and replacement of a deteriorated box culvert.

The trees are located on both sides of Keyser Street between 100 and 112 Keyser Street. The trees have been marked with flagging tape and can be observed from the roadway.

You are invited to appear in person or be represented by an agent or counsel to provide input to the Planning Board regarding the proposed tree removal. Please address any written input or comments to Sutton Planning and Zoning, 93 Main Street, Sutton Mills, NH  03221, referencing “Proposed Tree Removal on Keyser Street.”  All written submissions will be included as part of the record.

The Sutton Select Board is pleased to announce that meetings will now be streamed online. Meetings will still be held in person at Pillsbury Hall. Strategic Planning Session April 14th, 2024, 7:00 pm

The Sutton Select Board will hold a Strategic Planning Session during a public meeting at Pillsbury Memorial Hall, 93 Main Street, Sutton Mills, NH, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14th at 7:00pm. The purpose of this meeting is to gather input on the Select Board’s 2025 priorities, and to engage volunteers to support town projects. Interested members of the public, committee and board members, and department heads are encouraged to attend this collaborative session.

Those who cannot participate in person are encouraged to share input by contacting the Town Administrator at (603) 927-2400 X4 or townadmin@sutton-nh.org.

2024 Town of Sutton Annual Report Available in Print

Self-serve pickup outside the front door of Pillsbury Memorial Hall

Pursuant to NH RSA 41:14 & 32:5 VII (a), the 2024 Town of Sutton Annual Report with budget is now available online and in print. Physical copies are now available for pickup outside the front door at Pillsbury Memorial Hall. Additional copies will be delivered to the North and South Sutton post offices by 7pm today, Friday, March 7th.

The Sutton Select Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 10th, 2025 at 7:00pm at Pillsbury Memorial Hall, 93 Main St. Sutton Mills, NH 03221 to gather public input on proposed amendments to the Select Board Rules of Procedure. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.

How do I register?  Visit the registration portal at: https://stateofnewhampshire.genasys.com/portal/en/ to sign up for notifications and designate how you would like to be contacted. To receive text alerts, you must add your SMS (text message) phone number(s).

What types of notifications/messages will I receive from NH Alerts?  The NH Alerts notification system may be used to alert residents and subscribers about issues impacting safety, such as tornados, floods, gas leaks, power outages, road closures, and other emergency notifications.

Who can register?  Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in a notification area where NH Alerts is used can sign up. Visitors or people with family in the notification area may also register.

When registering, why do I get the pop-up message “Email or Number” is already registered.  It is possible that your contact data has already been added.  If you receive either of these messages, simply return to the login screen and click on “Forgot your Password?”

My contact information has changed, how do I update it?  Login to the system portal: https://stateofnewhampshire.genasys.com/portal/en/ and go to the button (page) that needs to be updated such as notifications, locations, or additional emails.  Please click the “Update” button when done.

Do I need to provide an address or location?  No.  Not having a location in the system will prevent you from receiving local weather alerts, such as tornadoes and storms, and other alerts that are location based.

Will my contact information be shared with others?  No.  The information you provide will only be used by NH Alerts to send you alerts.  Your information will never be shared with an outside entity.

What are some reasons alerts from this system may not be delivered to me?

•  Your contact information is not up to date

•  You did not enable the text SMS checkbox

•  Your phone is off or busy for an extended period

•  The email may be in your Spam/Junk folder

It is recommended you have more than one contact method registered.

How do I remove my information from the system?

Login to the system portal and go to the unsubscribe button.  Follow the prompts and your contact information will be deleted from the system.

You can send an email directly to https://www.desc.dos.nh.gov or call 603-271-6911, option 4 and ask to speak to the E911 field representative for your town.

Below is the Draft Proposed Operating Budget for 2025 which will be presented at the Budget Committee Hearing this evening, February 11th, at 7:00pm. The Budget Committee and the Select Board will convene at 5:00pm to discuss this budget prior to the hearing, which will begin at 7:00pm. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Sutton Housing Survey

The Sutton Planning Board invites you to complete a short survey regarding housing in Sutton. The survey includes questions related to single, two and three-family dwelling units, cluster developments, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), senior housing, workforce housing, and potential mixed-use development.

We appreciate that you are taking the time to fill out the survey and helping the Planning Board with this process.  At this time, we are working to develop potential zoning change recommendations for consideration at 2026 Town Meeting.
