Construction of a new 5’x8’ box culvert has started at 986 RT 114 and is scheduled to be completed by 7/7/25. Construction activities will include removing the existing 48” metal culvert pipe, moving the inlet of the new culvert upstream to allow for better flow of the stream, and installing a 5’x8’ precast concrete box culvert. The intention of installing the much larger box culvert is to allow more water to flow through to reduce flood impacts in the area. Traffic signals were installed yesterday to direct traffic through our work zone. These signals will be turned on tomorrow once our concrete barriers for the work zone are installed. Construction light towers will also be installed tomorrow so that our entire work zone is lit up at night for the safety of people traveling through our work zone.
