Alkaline batteries for flashlights and other household items are not considered hazardous and can be thrown in the trash. This includes most non-chargeable batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D and 9-volt batteries.

Fluorescent light bulbs are accepted at the Transfer Station.

Please do not bring ammunition and explosives, fire extinguishers, radioactive materials, or propane tanks.  Contact your local police or fire departments about ammunition, explosives, and fire extinguishers.  Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can be sent back to the manufacturer.  Propane tanks can be exchanged or refilled at a propane distributor.
