In 1999, 441 acres of the former King Ridge Ski Area were gifted to the Town of Sutton by developer Frank Stewart. The mixed woodlands include a quarter mile of Lyon Brook, vernal pools, historic stonewalls and cellar holes, and portions of the former ski trails. The Sutton Conservation Commission has been given the responsibility of overseeing KHR. The reservation is managed as a public park, fostering an appreciation for our natural and historical heritage. It provides a variety of recreational opportunities throughout the year. King Hill Reservation is protected by a conservation easement held by the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. Uses may include: HikingSki TouringSnowshoeingSleddingSnowmobilingHuntingFishingetc. Please note, this area is closed to all wheeled vehicles. Please no fires, no camping, and carry out your trash.
