Dane Headley, Selectman, opened the meeting at 5:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Present at the meeting were:  Dane Headley, Chair; Michael McManus, Selectman; Cathy Popkin and Janie Snowden.

Selectman McManus moved to approve the  September 26, 2022, as amended.  Selectman Headley seconded the motion.  The motion passed by a vote of 2-0.  The Board reviewed and approved the following manifests:

Vendor Manifest:  $234,445.64

Payroll Manifest:   $  13,903.70

BUILDING PERMITS:

OLD BUSINESS: Mike indicated that he had walked the Old Ash Landfill last week (9/28) with Anita Blakeman. Anita followed up (9/29) with a letter to the Board recommending the appropriate steps going forward. Mike said he had sent a copy of the letter to Lorri and Dane agreed to email her to let her know that she should send same along to Town Council ASAP. She may have to contact Elly to find out whom to forward it to.

Dane suggested that the Board meet with Adam Hurst at our next public meeting to discuss appropriate steps (including contacting Anita) next time town land is to be timbered. Dane also wants to follow-up with Adam regarding the status of the GVW signage to be posted along Gile Pond Road.

Mike said he had spoken with Chief Korbet about police sidearms and that a concealed weapon is recommended by the State as backup. Mike also noted that as of last weekend, Stotler cleanup was about 50% complete in the Book Store and about 90% on the site as a whole. Some Sutton and Merrimack County historical data is being salvaged for Jack Noon and the Historical Society.

PUBLIC INPUT: Ms. Popkin and Ms. Snowden had come to observe the Board in action but had no planned comments or questions. They talked generally about the Board, meeting dates, etc., as well as other Town Boards/Committees. The Board thanked them for their interest and encouraged them to come back any time they felt so inclined.

SELECTMEN’S COMMENTS: Dane confirmed Tuesday’s non-public meeting to conduct a worksession to compile Department Head Performance Evaluations and noted that Wally would be attending.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:31 p.m.
