Board of Selectman

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Robert Wright, Jr., Chair.  Present at the meeting was Robert Wright, Jr., Chair; William I. Curless, Selectman; Deborah Lang, and Elly Phillips, Town Administrator.

 

The Board reviewed and approved the minutes from December 13, 2017.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

The Board reviewed matters pertaining to a citizen request for a rehearing of a Zoning Board Decision dated November 15, 2017 for Deborah Lang, 02-478-356 which granted a variance to permit the construction of a 28’ x 36’ garage provided in violation of the road setback, but meeting the 75’ setback requirement from the wetlands.

 

The Board recessed to consult with Town Counsel.  The Board returned from recess at 5:15 p.m.

 

No action was taken as the sense of the Board, upon through review of the matter, was that while there may be concerns regarding the action, the variance was of a minor nature and the potential expense to the town does not justify taking an action to challenge the decision of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:22 p.m.
