January 3, 2017 | Town Admin TOWN OF SUTTON Pillsbury Memorial Town Hall 93 Main Street Sutton Mills, NH 03221 Board of Selectman Meeting Minutes of January 3, 2017 The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Walter Baker, Jr., Chair. Present at the meeting was Walter Baker, Jr., Chair; William I. Curless, Selectmen; Linda Ford, Town Clerk/Tax Collector and Elly Phillips, Recording Secretary APPOINTMENTS: Linda Ford, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, met with the Board at 5:00 p.m. Ms. Ford submitted a 2017 ballot template for the Board’s review. Ms. Ford discussed the salary line item for the Town Clerk/Tax Collector seeking a salary increase. Selectman Baker said that the Board would be happy to review the line item but would need more information regarding the reasoning behind the request. The Board noted that Ms. Ford receive her Town Clerk/Tax Collector certification in 2016. Ms. Ford advised that she was putting in additional hours and that she reports for work at 6:00 a.m. The Board agreed to meet with Ms. Ford at their next regularly scheduled meeting to review the matter in further detail. The minutes from December 19, 2016, were approved as written. The Board reviewed and approved the following manifests: PAYROLL MANIFEST: $ 12,883.24 12/23/2016 VENDOR MANIFEST: $ 47,645.20 12/23/2016 PAYROLL MANIFEST: $ 13,531.88 12/30/2016 VENDOR MANIFEST: $419,194.89 12/30/2016 NEW BUSINESS: The Board approved the following abatements: Eversource Tax Accounting – 99-000-001 $9,056.00 NH Electric Coop 99-000-002 $ 347.00 The cause for the abatements wa s to abate the State Education Tax which was billed in error. The Board received 2016 Expediture reports for review as well as a report for the 2017 proposed budget. The Board agreed to include the Sutton ballfield in the culture and recreation requested appropriation and to provide the Center for the Arts with information on how to petition a Warrant Article. The Board issued an appointment for Martin Carrier to the Office of Treasurer for a term until March 2018. Action was deferred on Septage Disposal Site Authorized Signatures for 2017-2019 and 2016 Annual Report – Septage Facility Permit SEF-04-002.
