CURBSIDE PICKUP

The library will restart offering curbside pickup beginning June 8 by appointment only. We are phasing reopening gradually, this is Phase 1. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new process.

How will it work?

  1. You will place holds by calling or emailing the library at: suttonlibrarian@gmail.com
    (603) 927-4927. Not sure what you want? Call or email for recommendations! Also, check the SFL Facebook & Instagram feeds that will be updated with pictures of new purchases!

  2. When your holds are ready, you will receive an email or phone notification from the library.
  3. At that point, you must call or email the library to schedule a pickup time. We’re flexible and will do our best to work around your personal schedule.
  4. Visit the library at the allotted time to retrieve your materials. At this time, you may also return any items you have out, using the metal returns box by the parking lot.

How will I pick up my holds?

Staff will wear a mask while placing your items in a plastic bag labeled with your last name. The bag will then be placed on a folding table by the parking lot behind the library. Items will already be checked out to you – so feel free to take your bag and go! This is a no-contact service, meaning that staff will not be outdoors. If there is something else you need, or you have questions while you’re picking up your item, feel free to call us from the parking lot.   927-4927

I don’t have a library card! Can I still use this service?

Absolutely, please call or email the library to remotely sign up for your library card.

Can I request items from other libraries?

No. At this time, no libraries in the state are receiving items from other NH libraries.

Can I come into the library to grab something while I’m there?

Unfortunately, no. At this time the library building will remain closed to the public.

What safety precautions is the library taking?

The library has taken the following steps before offering these services:

  • Completed a detailed cleaning of the library building
  • Deep cleaned frequently used surfaces
  • Obtained adequate stores of disinfectant and hand sanitizer, as well as protective gear for staff

In addition, we will be quarantining all returned items for a minimum of 72 hours. We will also be quarantining all newly ordered items before they are added to the library’s collection. If you’re uncomfortable with the minimum 72 hours, please feel free to request a longer quarantine period for your items.

How long will you offer this service?

Until further notice. Since our service levels are determined based on a number of public health factors, we do not know when our services will change. We are following CDC guidelines as well as recommendations by the Reopening NH Libraries Task Force. This Curbside Reopening has been approved by town counsel as well as the town health officer. Please check our website at www.sutton-nh.org/town-department/library for future updates.

Rest assured that library staff are working on plans for the next phase of reopening, and we look forward to serving you further in the future!

Meanwhile… don’t forget to take advantage of the resources SFL already provides!
