The Town Clerk is the keeper of the vital records, such as birth, marriage and death records. A Certified Copy of Vital Record(s) can be obtained from the Town Clerk. In order to request a Certified copy of Vital Record(s), click on the Vital Records button below to request a Vital Record online.

Or you can go to the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall during office hours and submit the application in person.

You can obtain your marriage license at any New Hampshire Town Clerk’s office. And, you do not have to reside in New Hampshire to get married in New Hampshire. Marriage licenses are valid for 90 days and the cost to obtain one is $50.00. If you want a certified copy the charge is $15.00. There is no waiting period and there is no blood test required.

Both parties must appear together and in person. You will need to bring with you the following items:

Valid Photo ID (i.e. driver license, passport or state issued non-driver ID).
If either party has been previously married, you must provide proof of the:
Divorce/annulment – we must see the sealed final divorce decree or certified copy of the divorce certificate. If the former spouse is
deceased, a certified copy of the death certificate must be produced.

A worksheet will need to be completed by you and your future spouse. This form is used by the Town Clerk to prepare the marriage license. You will need to provide the full names of your parents, including your mother’s maiden name as well as their state or country of birth, etc.

YOU MUST CALL AHEAD FOR AN APPOINTMENT AS IT TAKES ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS.
